Spreading Hope & Changing Lives
One Story at a Time
#ReachJustOne
Welcome to Starfish Talks, my very own passion project.
For most of my life, I have repeatedly been told,
“Jolynn, you cannot save the world.”
Well, that may be true, but we all add value
or take value away -with the words we speak.
I choose to share the gospel and speak words of faith and hope!
I pray that as we share our stories boldly, those stories make
a difference for just one person. I hope these messages touch others and a ripple of encouragement will continue to spread.
The world can change one life at a time, one story at a time!
Why "Starfish Talks" and "Just Reach One?"
In the story of the starfish
the little boy did not have to save them all
just the one he was touching.
"My heart overflows with a good theme..."
Psalm 45:1

I am a speaker, writer, mentor and military family advocate. In the Fall of 2020,
Brave Women, Brave Faith, a collection of stories sharing military life and faith, will be published. I am privileged to a part of this collaboration with my fellow military spouses.
My husband and I serve our military community through volunteerism with various non-profit organizations. We facilitate the Camp Lejeune site of Reboot Combat Recovery, a trauma recovery program open to all active duty personnel, veterans, first responders and their families/support systems. I also serve as the Community Development Team Lead for Planting Roots: Strength2Thrive in Military Life. Additionally, I was blessed to be selected President of the Camp Lejeune Leadership Seminar for 2020. A few years ago, I was voted by my peers to receive the title of
2018 Armed Forces Insurance Marine Corps Spouse of the Year, a recognition that enabled me to continue to spread the message that there is hope and healing from trauma and brokenness. Truly, we are #strongertogether!
For thirty years, I was fortunate to serve as a military spouse, and I continue to experience new dimensions of military life as both mother and mother-in-law to active duty personnel. Because we have loved ones still serving on active service, I remain passionate regarding the mental health issues faced by those who serve, and those who love and support service members. When we create an environment of solid emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being, we strengthen families and support our military force in action. It is so important to support and assist others in having those hard conversations" and to lean-in to address the hard topics surrounding trauma recovery and restoration. I truly believe, when we share our journey those stories can provide hope and guidance to others in the midst of the struggle. It is so important to know you are not alone and if we can #justreachone, it can make all the difference in the world!
